花壇鄉 Huatan Township

舊稱「茄冬腳」，後取日語諧音改稱
「花壇」。早期生產紅磚頗具盛名，亦稱紅
“Huatan Township” 磚的故鄉。鄉內盛產芒果、荔枝、楊桃、西

施柚、茉莉花、竹筍等農產品，其中茉莉花
產量居全台之冠，故有茉莉花王國之美名。
縣定古蹟「虎山岩古剎」為彰化縣
三大名寺之一，香火鼎盛。

Huatan Township was
formerly known as “Chieh-
Tung-Chiao”. Later it was
changed as Huatan according to
Japanese similar pronunciation. It used
to be known for its high-quality bricks and
was called “Hometown of Bricks”. Huatan
Township is rich in mango, lychee, star fruits,
Shis pomelo, jasmine and bamboo shoots.
Of them jasmine is the most abundant and
Huatan Township is hence called “Kingdom
花壇／茉莉花 of Jasmine”. The county-designated
Huatan／Jasmine Flowers historical site Hushan Temple is one
of the three well-known temples
in Changhua County, with
endless stream of pilgrims.
