芬園鄉 Fenyuan Township

鄉名源自先人在此地植菸草而取名，產業以農
業為主，荔枝、鳳梨、米粉最為有名。位於楓坑村
的米粉製造專區，是台灣米粉最早發源地，故有米
粉故鄉之稱。「寶藏寺」奉祀媽祖，為鄉內最早建
立之寺廟。挑水古道岩石砌成一階階的步道，提供
民眾登山休閒及防洪功能。

The name of the township originated from the fact
the ancestors grew tobacco in this place. Most citizens
are farmers. Of all farm products, lychee, pineapples
and rice noodles are the most famous. Fengkeng
Village, where Taiwanese rice noodles originated,
is famous for making Taiwanese rice noodles. Thus
Fengkeng Village is also called “Hometown of
Taiwanese Rice Noodles”. Baozang Temple, which
worships Mazu, is the first temple in Fengyuan. The
water carrying historic trail, whose stairs were made of 芬園／寶藏寺
rocks, provided a function of mountain climbing as well Fenyuan／Baozang Temple
as flood prevention. 17
