二水鄉 Erhshui Township

位於交通輻輳點、集集支線鐵路的起點，八堡圳
為全臺早期開發著名的3大水利埤圳，灌溉彰化平原
大半部地區，為紀念該項水利工程而設的「臺灣跑水
節」為地方上最具特色的年度節慶活動。濁水溪床上
的優良硯石有「黑玉」之稱，為二水的「鄉寶」，石
硯雕藝師傅更擁有盛名。

Erhshui Township is situated at the point of
traffic convergence and is also the starting point of
Chichi Railway. Babao Canal is one the three most
famous established irrigational canals in Taiwan
which is used to irrigate half of Changhua Plain.
Water Festival of Babao Canal is held every year in
memory of forebears’ hard work in constructing the
canal and ends up the most characteristic festival
in Erhshui Township. The excellent ink stones in
the riverbed of Jhoushuei River, also called “black
jade”, are a treasure of Erhshui Township. Inkstone
carving masters in Erhshui Township also have a
great reputation.
